And not simply is it popular. There are many places to see, and many interesting things to do while in the top of the line Jordan tourist places. Camping, hiking, sand-boarding, trekking and climbing and going on a 4x4 safari or a horse or jeep safari are things you can definitely do.

Here are a couple places to visit in Wadi Rum Jordan

Jebel Burdah Rock Bridge

To reach the top of the Bridge which stands at about 80mts above ground, the only way is to hike. And it is a whole day tour in Wadi Rum Jordan as it can take anywhere between 4-7 hours to hike to the top.

Khazali Siq Canyon

You can reach the canyon best by foot. Here you can see the ancient Nabataean era inscriptions and rock carvings and a visit to this narrow canyon is by itself a Wadi Rum Jordan beautiful experience.

Al Hasany Dunes

Of all the dunes in and around Wadi Rum Jordan, the most beautiful of it all is this sand dune that is piled up against the Jebel Umm Ulaydiyya. And you can reach here either in a 4x4 ride, or even on a camel safari. And it is really worth visiting, seeing and spending some time in.

Jebel Rum

The Jebel Rum Mountain is located on the western side of Wadi Rum Jordan. It stands at a height of about 1754m. And this is a very popular spot for tourists’ who want to climb, trek, and hike to the peak.

Jebel Umm Al Ishrin

This ravine or gorge is part of the ‘Mother of Twenty’ mountain, Jebel Umm Al Ishrin located on the eastern side of Wadi Rum Jordan. This gorge connects to the famed Seven Pillars of Wisdom structure.

There is a story behind how this place got its name- ‘Mother of Twenty.’ Long ago, there was a woman who lived here, and it is said that she killed 19 people who wanted to get married to her. But the 20th man was too smart who outsmarted her and she was forced to marry him.

During sunset, in the background of the orange color of the setting sun, this place turns all white. And it is a sight not to be missed. But yes, a word of caution, to climb is not very easy. But once you do, you can literally run down and that is why many of them go sand-boarding here.

Alameleh Inscriptions

Ancient writing and inscriptions dating back to the Nabataean and Thaumudic era can be found here. It is located in Diseh distric near the Seven Pillars of Wisdom in Wadi Rum Jordan. And even today, the inscriptions dating back to the BC era are quite visible and have definitely stood the test of time.

Barrah Canyon

This valley or canyon is very popular and is visited by many tourists on a quest to explore  Jordan tourism. It stretches to about 5km of rock, cutting through the mountain ranges. And this place is perfect for those wanting a round of adventure on their trip to Wadi Rum Jordan. You can choose to go climbing, camel trekking, hiking here. And yes, you can take a break in the shade and enjoy the scenic beauty all around you.

Lawrence’s Spring

To the southwest of the Rum Village is where the Lawrence Spring is located. It was named after the British officer, Lawrence, who was instrumental in starting the Arab Revolt during WWI. And if you are on a jeep safari, this is a definite stopover. Alternatively, if you want to hike through the soft sand, you can hike to this place and it takes close to 2 hours to reach here.

This small spring, right in the middle of the desert offers a view so great that a visit here is a must.

Little Rock Bridge

Another rocky bridge in the Wadi Rum Jordan area, it is very easy to climb, and once you do, you can feast on the beautiful surroundings of desert land.

Nabataean Temple

This over 2000-year-old temple is located on a small hilly in Rum Village. This temple dedicated to Lord Lat is virtually in ruins today. Yet, owing to its vintage aura, it should be visited.

Sunset Viewing Points

There are many popular sunset viewing points. And one of them is in the dunes near Lawrence’s House. Another is on the slopes of Jebel Qattar, and the other place is located near the Umm Fruth Rock Bridge.

Umm Fruth Rock Bridge

This is one of the other famous rock bridges in the area. And it is best to visit here late in the afternoon or early in the evening. But this bridge is in a very remote part of Wadi Rum and so it is best visited with a local guide.

Seven Pillars of Wisdom

Seven Pillars of Wisdom

This rock formation actually got its name from Lawrence’s book. And there are about 7 rock formations located next to each other and that is also why it got its interesting name. Since the book made this place famous, it would be nice to tick this place in your list of places to see while on a trip in Wadi Rum Jordan.

Kharazeh Canyon

It is almost a day’s tour to reach the Kharazeh Canyon in the Jebel Umm Al Ishrin area. And it is very popular for trekking and hiking.

Lawrence’s House

This is a building that is practically in ruins and nobody really knows if it was Lawrence’s house. But it is believed that he stayed here during the war. Yet, even though this building is all in ruins, there is something very beautiful and interesting and so keeping in touch with history, this is one other place to visit for sure.
